The Tarkine region of northwest Tasmania contains the largest expanse of temperate rainforest in the southern hemisphere. It is a wilderness under threat from mining and logging.
In December 2012 I visited the area with my partner Andrew. We made soundscape recordings and photographs in the hope of contributing to the efforts to raise awareness, and to assist in communicating how precious this wild place is. To hear the recording we made, and to read further please visit our Listening Earth website – where you can download the album for free.
Here is a selection of some of my images from that trip.
